The Transformation CEO

Sima Sistani is a technology entrepreneur and executive who has spent more than two decades building, scaling and reinventing consumer businesses around one central idea: how technology can create meaningful human connection at scale.

She co-founded and led Houseparty, growing the social video platform to more than 100 million users before its acquisition by Epic Games, where she went on to lead social products across the company, including Fortnite. She later became CEO of WeightWatchers, leading the nearly 60-year-old company through one of the most consequential transformations in its history—from traditional weight management into digital and clinical health.

Today, Sima serves on the Board of Directors of Best Buy and teaches women’s leadership at Duke University. Having built a startup from zero, navigated a major acquisition, operated inside one of gaming’s most influential companies and led the reinvention of an iconic consumer brand, she brings a rare perspective on community, transformation and leadership when the old playbook stops working.

In 2026, Sima launched Liberation of Flowers, a collection of fine fragrances disrupting traditional olfaction by creating energetic scents for who you're becoming, not who you've been.

What Sima brings to the stage.

i.

Leading When the Category Changes Underneath You

Transformation is easy to celebrate after it works. Sima speaks to what it actually looks like in the middle: when consumer behavior shifts, new technology rewrites the market and leaders have to make high-stakes decisions before consensus exists.

ii.

Building a Product Strategy Through Community

From Houseparty to WeightWatchers, Sima’s career has revolved around a deceptively difficult question: how do you turn human connection into a product people return to? She explores network effects, trust, belonging and why the best consumer businesses are built around relationships—not merely transactions. Her own description of the throughline of her career is “digitizing social connection.”

iii.

Reinventing an Icon Without Denying Its Past

How do you modernize a 60-year-old company whose legacy is both an asset and a liability? Sima shares lessons from transformation at scale: acknowledging what no longer works, deciding what must remain and moving an organization toward a radically different future.

iv.

How To Build a World-Class Team

One of Sima’s sharpest leadership lessons from Houseparty: a great idea can still fail without the right team dynamics. She explores culture as an operating system, why “people/team fit” matters alongside product-market fit and how leaders course-correct before dysfunction becomes strategy.

v.

Writing the New Rules of Leadership/ Transforming Organization Culture

What changes when women reach the highest levels of leadership—and are asked to transform the institution once they arrive? A candid conversation about ambition, nonlinear careers, glass-cliff assignments, confidence and building a career that does not depend on following someone else’s script.

“Entrepreneurship means writing new rules, and we need the next generation of women to write the new rules.”
